Cartridge World Partners with Green America
Wednesday November 4, 2015
In 2003, Cartridge World joined North America’s green revolution. Environmentally friendly business practices typically take place one small step at a time. But with 450 retail locations across the United States, Canada and Mexico, Cartridge World is making an enormous impact on recycling.
Every day the world’s largest ink and toner franchise collects, recycles and reuses thousands of printer cartridges, printers and e-waste. To help expand its reach, Cartridge World partnered with Green America’s “Green Business Network” to provide eco-friendly printing solutions for its network of businesses.
Green America’s “Green Business Network” is the largest and most diverse network of socially and environmentally responsible businesses in the country. Comprised of 3,000 organizations, the network is home to both rising social and eco enterprises and the most established green businesses in the United States.
There are approximately 1.3 billion ink cartridges used around the world and over 70 percent are discarded in landfills without reuse. Cartridge World encourages the reuse and recycling of printing products with cartridge drop-off boxes and recycling services at each store. Cartridge World also supports school, corporate and non-profit fundraising programs that reward organizers for recycling empty ink and toner cartridges.
Green America’s consumer education programs and publications reach millions of green consumers each year, encouraging them to support socially and environmentally responsible enterprises.
