Cartridge World Among Top Franchises
Tuesday, January 07, 2014
In January, Entrepreneur magazine announced Cartridge World as one of the country’s top 100 franchises. The announcement was made as part of the annual Franchise 500® list, the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking, released in the magazine’s January edition. Cartridge World joins the likes of Subway and McDonald’s as a growing international brand with stores in more than 50 countries.
Cartridge World opened its first store in the United States 10 years ago, and now has nearly 600 stores in North America. Cartridge World is a specialized retailer selling ink and toner cartridges, printers, printing supplies and printer maintenance for home and office customers. The company continues to expand its product line and increase its footprint around the globe.
“This is an exciting time to join Cartridge World. We just signed expansion agreements to open stores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Yemen,” said William Swanson, North American CEO of Cartridge World. “Plus we’re adding new products and services for U.S. Cartridge World stores to capture more market share in the $80 billion ink and toner business.”
Throughout its 35 years in existence, Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 is a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for entrepreneurs looking to start their own business. Cartridge World’s rank, number one in its category and 90 overall, reinforces its strength in the competitive printing and office supply industry.
“Cartridge World owners are experts when it comes to providing smart ways for local business owners and homeowners to save time and money on printers and supplies,” said Swanson. “Our team runs circles around superstore employees. Rather than selling ‘what’s on the shelf,’ we’re giving the best printer advice possible to customers – whether we sell the product or not.”
Dedicated customer service is what has kept Cartridge World on Entrepreneur’s prestigious Franchise 500 list for the past six years.
The rankings for all 500 companies are determined using an exclusive formula that takes into account objective and quantifiable factors, with the most important factors being financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. After all financial data is analyzed by an independent CPA, all franchises are given a cumulative score, and the 500 franchises with the highest scores become the Franchise 500 in ranking order.
“Compiling the Franchise 500 every year gives us the opportunity to share data-driven insights, reflect on areas seeing progress and acknowledge the companies that have risen to the top,” said Amy Cosper, VP and editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “Franchises play an important part in economic growth, and the names in the ranking are leading the way with their continued and emerging business success.”
Cartridge World has more than 1,400 retail locations around the world, and is looking to add stores in the United States.
“If a business professional with B2B sales and retail customer marketing experience is looking to join forces with an exciting brand, Cartridge World is a great opportunity,” Swanson said. “We just kicked off new radio and TV branding campaigns – and are looking for an exciting 2014.”
