In less than four years, the number of people who work remotely – or are part of the mobile workforce – throughout the world is expected to reach 105.4 million, according to research from the International Data Corporation (IDC).

What does that mean for you? Depending on the type of work you do, you’ve already had some experiences in working remotely, telecommuting or working while traveling. The trick has been – and continues to be – maintaining productivity and efficiency while you’re away from your central office.

With the launch of PrintWorld, powered by Samsung, Cartridge World is providing a mobile app that enables today’s mobile worker with true on-the-go mobile printing and scanning functionality.

Who Is a Mobile Worker?

The IDC report, “U.S. Mobile Worker Forecast, 2015-2020,” puts mobile workers into two categories:

  • Office-based mobile workers
  • Non-office-based mobile workers

As the names suggest, these two groups are divided by the fact that one has a central office that they regularly work at, and the other is always on-the-go without a headquarters, respectively.

One specific segment of the mobile population that falls into the office-based worker category are realtors.

Real estate agents are typically away from the office for the majority of their day. They regularly need access to technology that allows them to securely print and scan legal documents that will ultimately lead to a closed deal.

In the U.S., there are 2.8 million real estate agents, and there’s a growing need to invest in technology that enables them to do their job more effectively.

The sharing economy – as demonstrated by the growth of Uber, Lyft and Airbnb – has given rise to a number of disruptive technologies that provide convenience for workers everywhere. With PrintWorld, Cartridge World aims to make mobile workers more efficient, secure and productive with a mobile app that hopefully helps them avoid disruptions.
